Sibongile May finished matric at Mohadin in Potchefstroom in 2022 and she received a partial scholarship to study acting at one of the world’s most acclaimed schools in New York. Her partial scholarship at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) will cover tuition, but she needs money for living expenses and other costs. “I still need R838 058 ($44 690). That is a lot of money. I know. But it is worth it,’’ she told Lentswe.
Arts centre given wings
Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Kopano Ke Matla Community Arts Center was launched and branded by North West Federation of community arts centers and Department of Arts, Culture Sports and recreation on October 21. Some of the performers were Steve Biko CAC, Ipelegeng CAC, Klerksdorp City The Musical Theatre, Dikwena Tsa Matlosana, Dinonyane Cultural Group, Tse Ditona Tsa Kopano, Tshimologo Ya Pina and Jton Killers and many more.
Class of 2023 to sit for final exam
Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Grade 12 learners will start with their final exam on Monday October 30. On Tuesday this week, the Moral Regeneration Movement (MRM) in North West wished the matric class of 2023 well in their exams.
In appealing for support and no disruption, MRM wished all pupils who will be sitting for their examinations as from next week the very best and urged them to stay focused and not to be distracted from the task at hand.
Ultimate Gospel Festival a huge hit
Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Indeed, a promise of a heavenly and spiritual experience was fulfilled to the people of Matlosana through the Ultimate Gospel Festival that was brought by Amahubo (The Psalmist) and Friends at the Auditorium on Saturday October 21.
The show started with special performances from the likes of the Vaal’s Nombuso, artists from Rustenburg and local artists from Stilfontein and Jouberton. But the showstopper was brightened by the two former finalists of Idols SA, Diamara (Vryburg) and Innocentia Sibi (Khuma) with their sweet voices. How can one forget the maturely experienced Oaratwa Monye (Mahikeng) who sang like a legendary gospel artist?
Ultimate gospel festival
Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The Civic Centre will come alive this weekend when gospel artists share the stage. The Ultimate Gospel Festival will take place from 17:00 on Saturday October 21. Gospel artists such as Keke Phoofolo, Sipho Ngwenya, William Sejake, Amahubo (The Psalmist), Moose Sounds Music, Josh Floods, Nombuso, Oaratwa Monye and the two former finalists of Idols SA, Diamara and Innocentia Sibi, will perform.
According to Amahubo, the organiser, they promise followers and music lovers a once in a lifetime experience that will be all about outstanding musical performances.
