Matlosana Cllr Victor Foboke of ward 36 celebrated his birthday this week with learners from Kanana primary school in Ext 14.  As part of his birthday, 16 learners from the school were given school shoes by the Councillor. He also shared some birthday cake with the learners.

Lentswe, Jouberton - Phodiso Worship Centre commemorated Women’s Day on August 10, with mothers and daughters coming together. The women wore attire specific to their culture that reflected their identity and origins. The speaker urged women to journey with Jesus in their lives. She explained to them the simple way the burden lessens when you offer everything to Him.

Klerksdorp Rotary Club spent the day with Bolopapelo Intermediate School, situated at Palmietfontein Farm, Ventersdorp. Many students rely on school meals as a primary source of nutrition. The club delivered a boot-load full of porridge which will provide a nutritious meal for the learners of Bolopapelo.

Amankala Mining & General Cleaning’s Team visited Folang Disability Centre in Kanana on August 12. The CEO, Thandiwe Gulwa, alongside her team, the Manager, Khanyisa Mthoniswa, Precious Gulwa, Sive Kweta and Mayenzeke Masele spent their entire day having fun, playing and feeding students and interacting with staff in interesting topics of how the centre came to life and their vision. Amankala Mining’s CEO highlighted very important words when she said: “We don’t have much but we share the little that we have”, which encourages sharing and caring regardless of what you have at hand.

Lentswe, Kanana - A Mass prayer and Memorial led by Kanana Council of Churches President Apostle TD Mofokeng and different churches with the office of the Matlosana Executive Mayor was held in the township. 

This event took place at the Mphe-qheke Stadium in Kanana on Friday August 1. The prayer aimed to provide healing and encouragement through words to the families affected by the tragic massacre in the community.
