Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Eskom announced the ongoing suspension of load-shedding, which has been in effect for almost a hundred days now. “This period of stability is attributed to our dedicated efforts in enhancing the reliability and performance of our coal generation fleet,” Eskom said.
Hospital’s main gate closed
Lentswe, Jouberton - Tshepong Hospital’s main gate will be closed until August 3. According to Nomvula Mokgoja, spokesperson, this is due to the upgrading of the entrance and exit of the hospital.
National teaching awards held
The national teaching awards of the Local education office (Leo) were held recently at LALA POA guesthouse. Various categories were judged such as excellence in secondary school teaching, primary school teaching, Grade R teaching, primary and secondary school leadership.
Road safety campaign
The Aurum Institute was busy with a road safety campaign on Friday June 21 in Dr Yusuf Dadoo Road. Aurum Dr KK relocated to the Corpus Novem Office park recently. They organised the campaign to address the issue of an upsurge in road accidents on the road and unsafe road conditions specifically in the suburbs. Rebuild Goudkoppie Heritage Hill
Lentswe, Klerksdorp – The Leano la Bophelo project together with its partners are in a process to rebuild Goudkoppie heritage hill which has been in a bad shape for some time. The facility has been vandalized and left for decay and has since been not serving its purpose of educating members of the community about its historic heritage and significance to the people of Matlosana and the district.
