Lentswe, Khuma - In Khuma, a crime intelligence driven operation by the Dr Kenneth Kaunda Illicit Mining Team resulted in the arrest of Lesotho national (41) on Thursday January 25, at Ext 6 kraals, Khuma, for unlawful possession of ammunition. According to Brig Sabatha Mokgwabone, police spokesperson, intelligence was received that the suspect was in possession of ammunition. “SAPS searched the suspect’s place and found him in possession of 35 AK 47, 43 x 9mm, nine .38, two shotgun, two 7.65, 10 x 40mm and 28 rounds of other ammunition. 

Additionally, the police found three R5/4 magazines, and one 9mm magazine. The suspect was arrested after failing to account for the possession and was expected to appear in the Stilfontein Magistrates’ Court on Monday January 29. 

“He will also be facing an additional charge for contravention of the Immigration Act,” said Brig Mokgwabone.
