Lentswe, Stilfontein - The local police are asking the community’s help to find four African males who robbed a house in Burger Street. According to W/O Naas Venter, the robbery took place at 02:00 on January 26 when three men broke into the house by forcing open the dining room window and removing the burglar bar.
“They overpowered the father, mother and two teenage sons. One of the suspects had a firearm and another one a knife.
“They took electrical supplies, money and jewelery and left with the owner’s VW Polo that was recovered abandoned in Jouberton,” said Venter.
It came to the attention of the owners that there were four robbers, as the fourth one was waiting by the Polo for the other three.
“It is suspected that the same four suspects broke into a house in Napier Street just an hour before.
“This is the third house robbery in the same area in Stilfontein.”
The suspects were aggressive and threatened the family. Luckily nobody was harmed.
He reminded residents to be aware what is happening in their area, to communicate with their neighbours, have a dog either inside or outside the house, activate the alarm and get extra security in and around the house.
