Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The Indian Consulate, led by Consul General Mahesh Kumar, visited the city earlier in January to seek investment opportunities.
The delegation from the consulate was welcomed by the management of the City of Matlosana, led by Executive Mayor Cllr James Tsolela, as well as members of the Wesvaal Chamber of Business. The purpose of the visit was solely to seek investment opportunities and to initiate possible collaborations between the Indian government and Matlosana municipality.

The Executive Mayor welcomed the visit and said that Matlosana has a lot to offer in terms of business relations between the two governments. The Consul General mentioned that their aim as the consulate is to connect with South Africa through business, arts, and culture. 

He also mentioned that currently, India has a high interest in skills development, cultural regeneration, ICT, and Mining opportunities in the Matlosana jurisdiction. 

The team from Matlosana highlighted all the investment opportunities available in Matlosana, ranging from agriculture, mining, tourism, textile manufacturing and renewable energy to mention a few.
