Lentswe, Orkney - Two hijackers died after speeding away from the police in a stolen vehicle and then losing control. The vehicle was stolen during the night of January 23 from the taxi terminus where the owner of the car is believed to have been lying down and sleeping. According to Captain Aafje Botma, police spokesperson, the 46-year-old man was pulled from his vehicle and the two robbers jumped into it and drove away.

Police officers on patrol spotted the vehicle and gave chase as it sped away at full speed. The chase came to an end on the Orkney/Klerksdorp road when the silver-grey Toyota overturned. The driver and passenger both died at the scene.
