Lentswe, Jouberton - The Jouberton taxi rank is completed and will be open to the public soon. On Wednesday November 20, Mayor Fikile Mahlophe participated in the signing ceremony, marking the completion of the Jouberton Taxi Rank project.   

During the inspection, the Executive Mayor was accompanied by several key officials, including MMC for Infrastructure Councillor Steferd Barrends, MMC for Local Economic Development Councillor Wesley Kgang, Ward 37 Councillor Happy Plaatjie, Director of Infrastructure Nelson Mongale, Director LED, Dr Brenda Roberts-Tebejane as well as contractors, engineers, and PMU officials.  

Executive Mayor Mahlophe praised the state-of-the-art infrastructure of the taxi rank, highlighting the improved amenities for commuters, such as shelters and toilets, which should be properly maintained at all times. He also expressed delight in seeing facilities for persons with disabilities, including ramps for easy access throughout the taxi rank.  

While still within the taxi rank, the Executive Mayor discussed the numerous benefits of the new taxi rank as an enhanced transportation hub for safe and efficient travel. He emphasized its potential to boost local economic development and improve the quality of life for both residents and commuters.
 
In conclusion, the Executive Mayor expressed his excitement about the organized and formalized structure of the Jouberton taxi rank, which will greatly benefit the community. He stated that the taxi rank would significantly enhance the daily lives of residents and commuters by providing a safe, efficient, and dignified transportation experience.

He also applauded the contractors and stakeholders for their outstanding work. The taxi rank will be officially handed over to the community of Jouberton soon.
