Klerksdorp residents should be aware that the new National Minimum Wage has been set at R28.79 per hour, up from R27.58 in 2024, reflecting a 4.4% increase in line with inflation. This rate applies to all workers, including domestic workers. However, those employed under the government’s extended public works programme will earn a reduced rate of R15.83 per hour.

Police active throughout the province
Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The police working with other law enforcement agencies and role players remain steadfast in ensuring that Operation Shanela puts criminals behind bars. This follows the arrest of 780 suspects in the province between January 27 and February 2.
Cops arrested for Tiger’s escape
Lentswe, Stilfontein - Four police officers were arrested last week for their involvement in the escape of Stilfontein underground kingpin, Neo James Tiger Tshwaeli. All four of the police officers worked on the Stilfontein Vala Umgodi operation. They were arrested on Friday Janaury 31 and were charged with defeating the ends of justice.
