Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The 97th Comrades Marathon will take place on Sunday June 9. The Klerksdorp marathon club will be represented by a whopping 55 athletes who qualified and committed to this year’s marathon. Included in this number are 19 novices - attempting the race for the very first time. The Comrades will be run from Durban’s city hall all the way up to finish in Pietermaritzburg before 17:30, giving athletes 12 hours to complete the 85km. A total number of 23 000 people will be attempting the race this year.

Anton Schoeman who is a member of Klerksdorp marathon club, will be running his 24th Comrades this year.
