Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - The Sanpark Rehabilitation Centre revealed its Garden of Remembrance over the weekend. According to Annaleen van Staden, director, the centre was started in 1963 by the Bekker family. It was previously known as the Bekker Clinic. The name changed in the early 90’s. “It was also the unveiling of our Wall of Remembrance for staff members and volunteers that passed on while in the service of Sanpark. The Wall was unveiled by the executive mayor of Matlosana, James Tsolela, on behalf of the MEC for Social Development,” she said.

During the event, Sanpark also honored four persons for long service: Fransisco Masuluke 57 years, Matron Kropman 55 years, Mervin Fortuin 38 years as Board Member and Marina de Lange (previous director) for 36 years. It was also the farewell function of De Lange.
