Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - Klerksdorp SAPS took hands with the Matlosana Municipality, Klerksdorp Rotary and local businesses to spread some goodwill on International Mandela Day that was celebrated on Friday July 18. Volunteers from the community joined them at several projects across Klerksdorp where they needed a helping hand. 

Klerksdorp Station Commander, Brigadier Tsietsi Morebodi kick started Mandela Day with a visit to the Letbabile Multi Centre in Alabama where care to the elderly is provided. They were impressed with the cleanliness of the centre and with the help of staff at Rio Casino they distributed a load of adult diapers to the residents.
The next stop was the children’s ward at Klerksdorp Hospital where the delegation was joined by Mayor Fikile Mahlophe and Cllr Wesley Kgang to distribute fruit, toys and colouring books to the little patients.

Miss Klerksdorp Chenique Terblanche lend a hand on the day and interacted with the little ones who enjoyed the attention. 

The Nkagisang informal settlement in Jacaranda received soup and bread during the morning and the final stop was at the Rethabile Children’s Home where police officers joined in some renovation projects.
