BRITS POS – CULLINAN - Stephan le Roux (49), ‘n oud-Britsie, vlieënier en vlieginstrukteur en Lourens van Niekerk (27), wat reeds sy vlieglisensie gehad het, is plotseling Vrydag, 1 November oorlede tydens ‘n vliegongeluk.
Hulle was op ‘n nagopleidinggraderings-vlug vir Lourens, toe die ligte vliegtuig, ‘n Jabiru J170 (ZU-IBE) enjinprobleme op pad na Wonderboom-lughawe ondervind het. ‘n Noodroep is uitgestuur, maar kommunikasie is verbreek en hulle is moontlik genoodsaak om ‘n noodlanding uit te voer waarna hulle toe klaarblyklik in ‘n hoogspanning-elektriese transmissiekabel vasgevlieg het, waarna die vliegtuig aan die brand geslaan, neergestort en met hulle binne, heeltemal uitgebrand het.
Duo in court for murder and defeating the ends of justice
BRITS POS – HARTBEESPOORT - Bonginkosi Gift Ndaba (31) and Sithembiso Asha Zwane (39) appeared before the Brits Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 28 October, for murder and defeating the ends of justice.
“The pair was arrested following the discovery of a 41-year-old male, Innocent Mandla Dlamini’s lifeless body under a bridge along the Lanseria road in Broederstroom, near Hartbeespoortdam on Tuesday, 22 October,” reports Colonel Adéle Myburgh, SAPS North West spokesperson.

BRITS POS – BRITS - Nachy Britz (29) is Maandag, 28 Oktober, in die Brits-landdroshof tot vyftien (15) jaar direkte gevangenisstraf gevonnis nadat sy op twee aanklagte van bedrog skuldig bevind is.
Tussen 2016 en 2018 het Britz niksvermoedende slagoffers bedrieg en mislei en hulle laat glo dat sy ‘n sakevrou is wat wettig luukse voertuie teen ‘n billike prys vanaf die Verenigde State van Amerika invoer. Die slagoffers het belangstelling getoon in van die voertuie wat Britz aan hulle voorgehou het.

BRITS POS – BRITS – Criminals continue to find new ways to commit vehicle theft, focusing on areas of vulnerability to strike. A concerning new modus operandi has emerged where suspects are targeting vehicles at local car washes.
“We cannot allow bad elements to take advantage of our communities,” says Charnel Hattingh, Group Head of Marketing & Communications, Fidelity ADT. Hattingh says after arriving at a car wash, unsuspecting customers often leave their cars – and keys – behind to shop or run errands.
