BONUS - RUSTENBURG - Motorists making use of the well-known and at times heavily congested Kruger Street Bridge in uptown Rustenburg need to plan for an alternative route towards the office, the kids' school and of course - back home at the end of each working day.
In a notice issued by the Bakwena N1N4, Rustenburg were notified of the eminent but fortunately, only temporary closure of the Kruger Street from 15 Augustus 2024 until 30 July 2025.

According to Charmaine van Wyk - spokesperson of the Bakwena N1N4 - the closure is necessitated by the dualling project of the Rustenburg section of the Bakwena N1N4 which will reach Rustenburg within the next two weeks. The so-called "dualling" project wherein the Rustenburg section and in fact, the remaining section of the Bakwena N1N4 up to Rustenburg in a western direction, will be upgraded to a dual carriageway, has recently also seen the partial demolishing of the similarly well-known overhead pedestrian crossing between the areas of Bergsig Academy and Protea Park Primary School and the Wildevy shopping centre. The project entails large scale construction to ensure easier and safer traffic flow along the Rustenburg section. Keep watching Rustenburg for any updates on the project.
