NOORDWESTER- KOSTER - As part of heightening visibility to reduce crime levels in line with the Safer Festive Season Operation Shanela, members of Potchefstroom Flying Squad arrested four suspects aged between 29 and 34, for possession of suspected stolen goods and robbery (aggravating).
The suspects’ arrest emanated from an incident wherein the armed men driving in a Volkswagen Polo, allegedly robbed a victim of a substantial amount of cash and bank cards in Koster on Thursday, afternoon, 28 November.

Following the incident, a lookout was given for the suspects and their vehicle. The suspects ran out of luck when Potchefstroom Flying Squad members stopped their vehicle on the R30 between Potchefstroom and Ventersdorp, and arrested them.
On searching the vehicle, police found suspected stolen money and a firearm. Preliminary investigation showed that the suspects are Jouberton residents and were using a rented vehicle at the time of the incident. The suspects appeared in the Koster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 2 December.
The Provincial Commissioner of North West, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena commended the members for their vigilance, which led to the arrest.
