RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - Because of the current N4 dual carriageway construction between Buffelspoort interchange and Dr Moroka interchange, Bakwena Platinum Corridor Concessionaire (Pty) Ltd, (Bakwena) must temporarily close the Kruger Street bridge. Road users and residents are advised that the Kruger Street bridge will be closed from 21 August 2024 until 30 July 2025. Previously the closure was scheduled to commence on 15 August 2024 but has been postponed by one week.

This closure will enable the bridge to be extended to accommodate the construction of the N4 dual carriageway which currently as it is, can only accommodate single lane traffic in a western and eastern direction.
Kruger Street bridge crosses over the N4 between Helen Joseph and Dr Moroka. Motorists are urged to make use of alternative routes such as Helen Joseph Interchange/Dr Moroka. Furthermore, motorists commuting between Protea Park North and/or South can use one or other of the following routes to get to Helen Joseph Drive:
• President Mbeki Drive
• Boven Street
• Mispel Street
Bakwena encourages road users to adhere to the traffic accommodation road signs, obey speed restrictions and exercise caution and patience while we undertake these works that will enhance your driving experience along the N1N4 route and most importantly improve the overall safety.
