Klerksdorp Record, Hartbeesfontein - The Hawks are looking into an alleged armed robbery at a game farm near Hartbeesfontein where a substantial amount of cash and more than 90 rhino horns were stolen.

Klerksdorp Record was told confidentially that the victim claims he was sleeping when three unknown suspects entered his home. He was tied up and 98 rhino horns, two cellphones and R50 000 cash were stolen. It happened in the early hours of Monday December 8.

Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Five suspects appeared in court for allegedly “selling” jobs at the Matlosana Municipality. They allegedly charged job seekers R10 000 per vacancy.

According to Brig Sabata Mokgwabone, police spokesperson, members of the Provincial Organised Crime responded to a complaint from the municipality about individuals who complained about employment contracts they signed, on condition that they pay R10 000. However, they were never employed.

Klerksdorp Rekord, Klerksdorp - The Matlosana Municipality has responded to the ongoing billing crisis that has left residents confused and frustrated over massively inflated municipal accounts.

Last week, it was reported that the new system, which requires residents to submit their own readings, has been chaotic. Many who complied found their payments were not allocated, their submitted readings were ignored, and they received statements with unrealistic estimated readings.
