Klerksdorp Record, Hartbeesfontein - The SAVF Evanna Home for the Elderly is in dire need of money.
The IWISA No 1 Fills Good campaign from Overland Cash & Carry in Klerksdorp wraps up on Monday March 31 and your purchase can help upgrade the lives of the elderly residents. The old age home calls on the community to make their final purchases count this pay day weekend.
Launched at Overland Cash & Carry in May 2024, a portion of each sale from IWISA No1 products purchased at Overland goes to Evanna. The home plans to upgrade the bathroom facilities used by some of the frailest elderly residents. “This is a basic yet essential improvement to ensure dignity and safety for those in our care,” says Theresa Cronje, Manager of SAVF Evanna. “Many of our residents struggle with mobility and rely heavily on these facilities being accessible and functional.”
The home supports over 80 elderly residents, many of whom are Sassa dependents without family support. “Our mission is to provide holistic, family-friendly care in a safe and supportive environment,” Cronje explains. “Our staff step in as caregivers, companions, and family to residents - offering the warmth and dignity every person deserves in their later years.”
In a context where many NPOs are expected to do more with less, SAVF Evanna’s work is both critical and inspiring. “Campaigns like this are essential in supporting organisations like SAVF Evanna,” adds Sibongile Mooko, Premier Marketing Executive. “They create meaningful partnerships between brands, businesses and communities - unlocking practical support for those who need it most. These are not handouts; they’re stepping stones to greater dignity and care.”
“We’re grateful for every person who has supported this campaign,” says Cronje. “Every purchase of IWISA No 1 at Overland brings us one step closer to creating safer, more dignified spaces for our residents.”
