Klerksdorp Record, Mahikeng - Former Klerksdorp Record reporter Mohanoe Khiba won the NW Sports Department’s award of Journalist of the Year.
On Saturday November 18, the Mmabatho Converntion Centre was packed when the NW Sport Awards were announced.
Khiba who now reports for Daily Sun and contributes on and off for Lentswe and Klerksdorp Record on a freelance basis says he was overwhelmed when his name was announced as winner in the category Journalist of the Year (Print). “It is tough reporting on sport and I really make sure that I work extremely hard to find the most recent sports stories in the province and of course, it is my passion, I am committed to do so.”
This journalist reported on new talents and achievements of young people in the province. In 2018, he won the Department’s award for Photographer of the Year.
This multi-award winning journalist will attend the North West Media Awards on December 6 in Rustenburg. “My wish is to bring this award home to Matlosana, as I’ll be competing with other journalists from SABC, eNCa and others,” he proudly said.
