Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The MEC of Education, Ntsetsao Motsumi, announced the three categories for top performing schools.
The categories are highest number of subject distinctions, highest number of candidates who qualify for admission to bachelor studies and the highest pass rate.
In the category highest number of subject distinctions (excluding LO) Hoërskool Rustenburg is in first place with 279 distinctions, followed by Potch Gimmies and Potch Girls High in third place.
Potch Girls High took the category for most subject distinctions. The percentage of distinctions is calculated out of the total of possible subjects of the school.
In the third category for small schools - admission to bachelor studies - Meerhof Special School took top honours, followed by Stella and Ferdinand Postma. Hoërskool Rustenburg took this category for large schools with 236 out of its 292 candidates qualifying.
The top performing schools based on 100% pass rates are Wesvalia, followed by KHS and Wagpos in third.
