Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Mind Sports South Africa’s (MSSA) Online School League started up and the NWU is onboard as the title sponsor.

It is the richest official school league in the country. Not only can learners earn funds for their school esports, but one such expert learner earns a fantastic bursary to the value of R30 000 to assist in his studies at the prestigious university.

Esports allows all schools to play on an equal playing ground as public and private schools battle it out against each other. KHS and Dawnview High School share the title as best school. They divided the R4 000 equally.

Marnus van der Merwe of KHS won the Clash Royale and was rewarded with a R30 000 bursary and R1 000 cash. He also won Streetfighter V and bagged R6 000.

Nathan Strange of KHS won Rocket League Premier 1 v 1 and Tiaan Koen, also KHS, bagged the FIFA 23 Premier title.

Clash of Clans was won by William Brink of Volkies. Dawnview players bagged titles for eFootball and the sportsmanship award.

Middies won League of Legends and PrONHS won CS:GO and Mobile Legends Premier. Middies and PrONHS shared the prizes for Rocket League - Premier - 3 v 3.

All players finishing in the top three places have all rightfully earned a place in MSSA’s 2024 National Team Trials should such athletes still be registered learners in the 2024 season.
