Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The Cricket SA awards took place last week and the city’s two Protea players did Klerksdorp proud.

The event was held in Midrand on September 5.

Star allrounder Marco Jansen walked away with the coveted SA Men’s Cricketer of the Year award.

Woman player Tazmin Brits won the women’s T20 Player of the Season award after finishing as the leading run-scorer in the domestic tournament, with three centuries.

Both cricketers grew up in Klerksdorp with Brits completing her schooling career at KHS.

Jansen was in Laerskool Goudkop before he went on to Potch Gimnasium where he completed matric.
