Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp -Tjaart Piston Kruger of Klerksdorp cannot wait to meet his opponent at the Ultimate Slap Fight African Championship that will be held in Pretoria on October 10.

Kruger and Jaco Grootwit Marneweck will face off for the vacant super-heavyweight title. This title fight was announced in August.

Grootwit, hailing from Barberton, is the reigning Punisher Slap Fighting SA super-heavyweight champion and has a record of one loss and one win. Both fighters are training intensely for the fight.

Grootwit describes Piston as “an all-out great and funny guy, always full of jokes. But he is also a great slap fighter and I know he is going to be a tough opponent”.

This match-up will be a huge event - the first-ever African super-heavyweight title fight.

Kruger made headlines in Klerksdorp Record and nationally when he took part in the Vaal Triangle and slapped his opponent lights out. He has also just returned from Las Vegas where he competed in the Power Slap competition.
