Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The SA u19 interprovincial golf week was held at Polokwane in December, and after five gruelling rounds NW finished joint on top with Western Province.
WP was placed above NW by a count, making the local lads the second best u19 team in SA. Only one local boy, Leonard Swart (16) from KHS, was in the team. He won 8.5 of his 12 games, placing him in the top 8 players for the week.
The NW team beat Western Province and Gauteng North, the two favourites on route to this achievement.
Klerksdorp’s Leon Bevan and Heinrich Swart were manager and assistant manager of the team.
The other seven players included Jason Ressell, Bryan Newman, Minjun Heo, Tristan Fichardt, Jayden Jacobs (all Pecanwood), Labanzi Tselane (Magaliespark) and Sahid Kooreyshi (Wolmaransstad).
