Lentswe, Kanana - The National Association of School Governing Bodies in collaboration with Kanana Council of Churches held a Prayer Day for the Matric Class of 2024 on Friday October 18. The Session was attended by parents to support their kids as they get ready for final exams. Learners signed the pledge to adhere to exam rules and conduct themselves accordingly during exams. The pastors prayed for the learners asking God to be with them during the exam period. Churches will continue praying for peaceful exams every Sunday till the end of the exam period.
Nigerian lover gone with money
Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Last week, the NW Hawks arrested a Johannesburg businesswoman for her alleged involvement in defrauding an unsuspecting Jouberton woman of R600 000 in a romance scam. The money was traced to a business account belonging to Caroline Diana Sserufusa (37). She appeared in the Specialised Commercial Crime Court sitting in Klerksdorp, on charges of fraud and money laundering on Wednesday October 9.
Improved audit outcomes hailed by Premier
Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The North West Provincial Government is on a promising trajectory in relation to audit outcomes when compared to previous financial years. This was revealed by the Auditor General, Tsakani Maluleke in a meeting with Premier Lazarus Kagiso Mokgosi held in Klerksdorp. The 2023/24 audit cycle which ended on March 31, indicated that a total of 9 departments received unqualified audit outcomes with two receiving clean audits. Only one department received a qualified audit opinion with reduced qualification paragraphs.
