Lentswe, Potchefstroom - The past weekend, in celebration of Women’s Day, Martial Arts SA (Masa) and the SA Korean Martial Arts Association (Sakmaa) held the national Sakmaa championship in Potchefstroom.
Ryu kyu karate also took part in this tournament. Marko Blignaut took part in the boys 10-12 year category for blue to green belt.

He is the new 2024 Sakmaa national kata/form champion. He also received a silver medal for traditional weapons form/kata and bronze for continuous sparing. Marko is a learner at Laerskool President.

Joseph Kedamile took part in the men’s 18-30 category for white - yellow belt. He is the new 2024 Sakmaa national form/kata champion, the national point sparing champion, and the new 2024 national continuous sparing champion. He also received bronze for combat weapons. Joseph is a learner at New Vision High School.
