Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - The staff at Khaya Tshepo are busy preparing for their year-end festivities for the children… and the most important one is the annual Festive Food Parcel Project. According to Charleen Diedericks of Khaya Tshepo Home of Hope for Vulnerable Children, this is their way of making sure that, with the help of our community, the children and their families have enough to eat during the four weeks that they will be at home and not receiving their normal two nutritious meals and two snacks per day, at Khaya Tshepo.
Kom proe, kuier by kosmark
Klerksdorp Midweek, Potchefstroom - Die kabaretkunstenaar en sanger Helena Hettema tree die laaste Sondag in November op by die Rooy Kosmark in Potchefstroom. Die gewilde kosmark in die Van Rooyensaal spog met heerlike kosstalletjies vir die fynproewer. Tuisgemaakte produkte, selfgemaakte kaas, produkte en tuisgebak word verkoop. Daar is gewoonlik ook snuffelstalletjies met tweedehandse produkte.
Matlosana library runs awareness campaign
Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - Matlosana Municipality Library Services held an awareness campaign on the Rights of People with Disabilities on Thursday November 16. The campaign was in the form of a colouring competition for learners from local schools of People with Disabilities. Six schools or centres participated in the competition, namely Tecford Centre, Daphne Lee, Janie Schneider, Mohau, Folang Emmanuel, and Triest. The competition required learners to colour the South African Coat of Arms with appropriate and relevant colours.
Morester is 70 jaar oud
Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - Die Hervormde Kerk Klerksdorp-Oos Morester vier die naweek sy 70ste verjaardag. Lidmate, oudlidmate en vriende van die kerk word genooi na die erediens op Sondag 12 November om 10:00. Na die diens sal daar ook ‘n kranslegging plaasvind ter herinnering van almal in uniform wat in diens van die land gesterf het. Almal is welkom om dit by te woon.
Die Morester gemeente is in 1953 gestig en die kerkgebou is op 9 Junie 1956 ingewy. Die gemeente het van die Hervormde Kerk Klerksdorp afgestig wat reeds in 1866 gestig is. Morester se eerste predikant is in 1954 beroep en die kerkraadsvergadering is daardie jare nog in die skoolsaal van Laerskool President gehou.
Die kerk het die afgelope sewe dekades, tien predikante opgelewer. Ds Joseph Steyn is die afgelope paar jaar by die gemeente betrokke. Almal is welkom om die erediens en kranslegging by te woon.
Free family wellness days
Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - The Department of Health and Rotary will present three family wellness days next week. The good news is that the services are free!
The events will take place on November 8 at Living Waters, 24700, Ext 15 Kanana; November 9 at 7148 Sothomela Street, Khuma and November 10 at Seventh Day Adventist Church, Ext 20, Jouberton.
All three events will start at 09:00 and last till 14:00. Remember to bring your child’s Road to Health booklet.

- Immunisation against childhood diseases such as polio, measles etc.
- Screening and testing for HIV, TB, blood pressure, diabetes and cancer.
- Provision of contraceptives.
- Information on women and men’s health.
- STI screening.
- Cervical screening services.
- Covid testing and more.
