NOORDWESTER – COLIGNY - On 14 October, the courts preceedings at Coligny Magistrate’s Court didn’t favour the community and the family of Tlotlo Kamogelo Matlala, as the accused was granted bail for the murder of Matlala who was stabbed in a Tavern in Extension 3, Coligny on Sunday, 6 October.

“Justice failed my son, how can they grant bail to someone who took my son’s life not allowing him to finish his matric? My son was studying at UNISA in the hope of changing our family’s situation at home, he was busy with an assignment. Now he has been taken from me,” said the father. The furious community members were picketing outside the court after it was confirmed that the accused was granted bail. The next court appearance is on 18 November.
