Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The Klerksdorp Bowls Club was abuzz with activity, warmth, and camaraderie on the chilly evening of Friday June 14 when the Tablers presented the Bowling for Blankets night.

The event was organised by Round Table Matlosane 45 with a mission to gather blankets for those who cannot afford them during the harsh winter months.

“It was an embodiment of our commitment to the Winter Knights project, ensuring that everyone in our community has the warmth and comfort they deserve. Despite the biting cold, all ten members of Matlosane 45 showed up in their shorts, ready to work through the night. Their attire was a symbolic gesture, a way to experience, even if just for a few hours, the discomfort that so many face without adequate warmth,” said Melcolm van der Spuy of the organisation.

The Klerksdorp community came out in full force, braving the cold to support this worthy cause. Their generosity and enthusiasm were heartwarming, demonstrating once again the incredible power of community spirit.

An impressive R18 000 worth of blankets and donations were raised.
