Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp – The Sanpark Rehabilitation Centre in Klerksdorp honoured one of its beloved donors by naming their hall after him.

The Karl Börner Hall was unveiled by his son, Thomas, and his partner, Anke Poschmann.

They travelled all the way from Germany to attend the ceremony on Saturday June 22. Börner Sr passed away in Germany last year. Sanpark’s Director, Annaleen van Staden said he was one of their most respected volunteers. She described it as a beautiful but emotional day.

“He will stay forever in our hearts and in our memories. We will never forget him. He left a legacy behind. He taught us so much about marketing but also about kindness and humanity.’’

The philanthropist became involved with Sanpark after his retirement. He travelled the world and made it his mission to help NGO’s developing marketing strategies. He designed Sanpark’s logo. Börner’s name was also placed on Sanpark’s Wall of Rememberance.
