RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - The Acting Bojanala Platinum Sub-District 2 Commissioner, Brigadier Mamotsamai Ntoagae and her management team welcomed the sentencing of Sithandile Ndlobethi (36) to life imprisonment by the Bafokeng Magistrate Court for brutally assaulting his wife to death with a sjambok at their residence in Freedom Park. 
It is alleged that in January 2023 the couple had an argument and Ndlobethi accused his wife for cheating on him and he repeatedly assaulted her with a sjambok until she lost consciousness, Sergeant Ofentse Mokgadi - SAPS Spokesperson in the Bojanala Platinum Sub-District 2 told Rustenburg Herald.

RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - The enhanced Safer Festive Season Operation Shanela conducted in the Province between Monday, 22 and Sunday, 28 January 2024, led to the arrest of 885 suspects for various offences according to Police Spokesperson Sergeant Ofentse Mogadi said. 
The arrests were made for drug related offences, illegal dealing in liquor, driving under the influence of liquor, possession of firearms and ammunition, assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm, murder, robbery at business and residential premises, burglaries, malicious damage to property and rape, among others.

It is alleged that a 48-year-old man was shot and killed by two unknown assailants at the corner of the R104 and 4th Avenue in Waterfall East between 06:30 and 07:00 last Thursday, 25 January.

In the first incident reported on Saturday, 13 January 2024, information was received by Lehurutshe Stock Theft and Endangered Species Unit (STES), leading to a cattle post in Nietverdiend where five Bonsmara cattle were found without brand marks.

RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - Residents of Rustenburg Local Municipality are hereby notified of an emergency scheduled repair for the entire Vaalkop Water Treatment Plant supplied by Magalies Water. 
The repair is expected to take place on Thursday, 25th January 2024 from 06:00 to Friday, 26 January at 06:00. 
The repair is expected to take up to 24 hours. 
As a result of this scheduled repair, consumers in certain areas of Rustenburg may experience reduced water pressure or even a complete water outage during this period.

Gideon Gaotingwe Mangope, (57), Mahlatse Manyaka, ( 32) and Monnaotsile Christop Lebuowane, (38) have appeared in the Tlhabane Magistrates' Court on Monday, 15 January, following their arrest for possession of illegal unwrought gold bearing material.

RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - Police in Tlhabane launched a search following the murder of a 37-year-old woman and her mother, aged 73. 
The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning, 14 January 2024, at Matlhatsimarwana Section, Lefaragatlhe village outside Rustenburg.
It is alleged that the 37-year-old woman woke up to open the door for her boyfriend. Reports suggest that without provocation, the boyfriend attacked and stabbed his girlfriend several times with a knife.

This according to the DA's Cllr Tanya Rothman of Ward 17. Residents in Ward 17 have had a tiresome if not disastrous few days behind them after the first of two lengthy power outages at the Waterfall substation kicked in at approximately 15:00 on Sunday afternoon.
