Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Dressed under the banner of Green and Gold, you are looking at Dance Sport Athletes that represented the South Africa Team at the UDO World Street Dance Championships that was held in Blackpool, UK earlier this month.

Five Klerksdorp dancers placed seventh in the World Final dancing in the advanced under 16 division; Zaid Bekker, Elhandri Potgieter, Bianca Kotze, Mické Seider and Shaelyn Coward were proud to represent South Africa.

 

 


All the dancers qualified through the Street Dance Association who are members of The Federation of Dance Sport South Africa. Arriving back in South Africa last week, they were ecstatic that their hard work paid off. 

A capping ceremony was held on August 8 before they left for the UK for the dancers in North West who made Team South Africa. It was a momentous and memorable occasion where the 8 dancers received their South African colours in Street Dance and the coach her colours as Dance Coach. They are all from Roots Dance Studio in Klerksdorp. 

They thanked the Heads of Delegation, Craig and Amanda Bullock, Directors and Founders of Street Dance Association who worked with the provincial Chairpersons of representing provinces of Street Dance Association for making this all possible. Special thanks to Mpondo kaMhlanganiso Mbotho from the Federation of Dance Sport Bokone Bophirima as well as the Federation of Dance Sport South Africa for their support.
