Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Another suspect was arrested in connection with the kidnapping and murder of Hasani Daniel Maluleka (62) in Wilkoppies in
April.
Provincial Organised Crime arrested Chabedi Phillip Rapuleng (44) in Heilbron after he was traced through meticulous investigations.
He was arrested on August 13, after his court appearance at the Heilbron Magistrate’s Court for an unrelated case of kidnapping and robbery.
Rapuleng appeared in the Klerksdorp Magistrate’s Court the next day and was remanded in custody after he abandoned his bail application.
His next court appearance will be on Wednesday September 17, where he will be joined by Julia Kolobi (47), Mcdonald Tsolo (39), Bongani Rampai (43), Thabo Motlatsi (50) and Kagiso Wageng (37).
Maluleka’s disappearance in April made headlines after his house was ransacked and he disappeared. He recently retired and the police noticed large amounts of money withdrawn from his bank account.
The investigating team’s efforts led to the arrest of Kolobi in Jouberton and more suspects were identified which lead them to the discovery of Maluleka’s body on the banks of the Schoonspruit near Kanana.
