Lentswe, Jouberton – Thethani Cebisanani presented a soccer tournament on the first Saturday of November at the ext 7 West playground dedicated to teaching young men the importance of isintu, our African traditions, respect, and cultural identity. The day began with a vibrant soccer tournament that brought unity, excitement, and teamwork to the field. Participating teams were Thethani Football Club and Ilitye Footbal Club from Khuma. The Khuma boys won the game.

Lentswe, Klerksdorp – The Glow in the Dark night run is taking place this week. The event will take place on Thursday November 13 at Matlosana Mall. The race will start at 19:00. It is presented by the Klerksdorp Marathon Club and EM’nM Marketing. Enter from 17:00 and the start is in the Food Court. Luminous paint will be provided for all participants. The entry fees are R30 (2.5 km), R50 (5 km) and R80 (10 km).

Lentswe, Maquassie Hills - Tshimega Chess Institute, in proud partnership with Maquassi Hills Municipal Libraries, hosted an inspiring chess recognition ceremony that celebrated both academic excellence and strategic brilliance! During the event, six brand-new chess boards and 10 achievement certificates were awarded to outstanding learners who excel both in academics and in the game of chess. The schools that shined at this celebration were Thusang Primary School, Tiragalo Secondary School, and Gontse Primary School - honoured for their consistent dedication and enthusiasm for the sport.

Beijing is calling! The Sky Grace Cup International Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament and Beijing Top Open will take place November 12-14, and the Klerksdorp School of Gymnastics will be represented. Local gymnast Chade Jansen is included in the SA team and Tatiana Lavrentchouk-Vizer is one of the three SA coaches to accompany the team. Chade is the current Senior Olympic Champion of 2025.

Lentswe, Klerksdorp - A local chess player needs the help of the community. Atlegang Monchosi, a promising young player from Klerksdorp, has demonstrated remarkable skill and dedication to the game, earning her a spot to represent Dr Kenneth Kaunda and South Africa at the upcoming African Youth Chess Championship in Harare. She is the current winner of the u13 national school tournament, and represented South Africa in the World Youth Chess Championship in Brazil last year, where she performed exceptionally well.
