Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Onalenna Khonkhobe trains in the dusty roads of Jouberton. This marathon athlete took to the streets of Soweto over the weekend and won the Soweto Marathon. He danced over the line, as he was so happy. He bagged R250 000 for this win. This man from Klerksdorp, as he said on national TV on Sunday November 3, won in a time of 2:18:36, which gives him an average of 3.18 km/h over the 42 km.

Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Ryu Kyu GoJu Karate sent two fighters to Maxpo 7 in Pretoria. Sensei Nathen Olivier and Tumi Kedamile were entered into the Agoge NW team, together with another Agoge Dojo Kickboxer teammate. Together they challenged the Gauteng team in the square ring.  The Maxpo event was an exhibition fight for point fighters and it was hosted by USF (Ultimate Strike Force). Shihan Abdullha Bayett, president of Gauteng, was also there with his fighters. NW ended second and RKG is now part of USF & GTMA (Global Traditional Martial Arts).

Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Netball South Africa (NSA) announced a formidable SPAR Proteas squad for the upcoming SPAR Challenge international test series against the Malawi Queens, set to take place in Johannesburg next week. From the squad of 15 players, the SPAR Proteas team of 12 players will be announced by Head Coach Jenny van Dyk at the pre-series media conference on Tuesday October 29.
