Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Sylvester Jacobs and Pule Morwe are looking for sponsorships to represent North West in Cape Town at the National Pool Championships. The duo won at the NW Open Pool championships held in July where Jacobs won and Morwe was second. Jacobs is the current winner and five times NW champion. He is the South African championships runner-up. In 2014, Sylvester was crowned South African champ of Que Sport and black pool winner. He also represented SA at the World Championships in England, Scotland and African countries.
Go Bokke!
The Springbokke is in a comfortable lead in the Rugby Championship after this past weekend’s victory over the All Blacks. SA remains undefeated after a win of 31 against New Zealand’s 27. It was a tough game with the Springbokke mainly playing catch-up rugby for most of the game. The last 15 minutes of the game was a nail biting affair with the Bokke overhauling a ten point deficit to win the game. Johan Orton/Caxton Local Media caught some of the action with his camera on and off the field. The second NZ game will be played in Cape Town on Saturday September 7.
New soccer league kicks off
Lentswe, Alabama - The Clicks Matlosana Industrial Soccer league (MISA) kicked off as planned. The Alabama Stadium was packed with supporters who had fun from 10:00 till 18:00 on Saturday August 24.
According to George Mokone, the chairperson, excellent soccer was played.
Dieketseng off to another championship
Dieketseng Mmokwa from Diphetogo Primary School is off to another provincial championships, the second time this year. She took part in the 1 200 m in athletics and will now take part in cross country over 3km.
NWU wins over TUT

The night also saw impressive wins from log leaders UP-Tuks and NWU handed defending champs TUT another defeat at home in Mahikeng.
