Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - The annual Hollard Daredevil Run has done it again - thousands of men around the country donned purple speedos to run 5km, raising vital awareness about prostate and testicular cancer. Runners also took to the streets in Potchefstroom, Rustenburg and Klerksdorp. This nationwide phenomenon, which first started 15 years ago, raises funds for the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) and the Prostate Cancer Foundation of South Africa to be used for testing in under-resourced areas and increase awareness, support and research.
Karate master visits South Africa
Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - Garsharan Sahota, the esteemed founder of Traditional International Shotokan Karate Association (TISKA), recently graced South Africa with his presence, continuing his long-standing commitment to promoting the art of karate in the country. A respected figure in the world of martial arts, Sahota currently holds the prestigious rank of 8th Dan Black Belt, a testament to his decades of dedication and mastery. Sahota, who visits South Africa annually, plays a crucial role in nurturing the growth of karate by sharing his vast knowledge with local practitioners.
Explosion of colour
Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - Kingston Private School will hold a colour run this weekend. The event will take place at the site of the parkrun (bird park) opposite Hoërskool Wesvalia on Saturday October 26. The start will be at 10:00 and they will also have food, music and a market. The entry fee for the day is R20. The running will cost R20, and the paint pack will be R10.
Cycling classic in the city
Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - Team Manzil will present a cycle classic on November 2. The event will take place at the Portuguese Hall
and the start will be at 07:30. Race day entries can be done from 06:00. Enter online at www.protcycles.co.za.
