A case of unlawful possession of firearm and ammunition against Morena Lerato Makhate (24) was postponed until Wednesday, 09 October, for further investigation. Makhate appeared in the Molopo Magistrates’ Court in Mmabatho on Friday, 20 September, following his apprehension at Montshiwa Township during a tactical Crime Intelligence driven operation by members of Mahikeng Tactical Response Team (TRT) on Wednesday, 18 September.
That after operationalisation of information regarding a suspect who was in possession of a firearm and ammunition, which were allegedly stolen during the commission of a theft from a motor vehicle. During the operation, Makhate was found and led the team to a house in Montshiwa Township where four rounds of ammunition were found. He further took the team to a house in Seweding village where a pistol was found.
