NOORDWESTER - LICHTENBURG - North West Open Boxing attended the Youth and Elite National Goitseone Kgopisho Boxers and three Coaches, Referees/Judges went along for the occassion.
The Championship where very tough against the defending champions, Eastern Cape, however, they retained their Champion status.
North West boxers showed great strength by making it to the semifinals and finals. Seven of North West Boxers went through to the semifinals and received bronze medals. Two made it to the finals: Hlobisile Radebe and Mtswewu Akahlulwa. They received silver medals and were awarded with places on the Team SA Squad. Our Referee/Judge from North West, James Mashimo, won Best Referee of the Tournament. Officials and Coaches, Pule Moshodi, Tshepo Seponkane, Goitseone Kgopisho and Ntswaki Letshwenyo obtained Medals of Recognition for ensuring boxers were prepared and well trained for the Championship.
