Klerksdorp Midweek, Potchefstroom - Music lovers can look forward to a musical production in early April with Holland’s Got Talent winner Amira Willighagen as the headliner. This Music Go Round concert will be performed in celebration of Amira’s 21st birthday as well as the tenth anniversary of Gelukskinders, a foundation she set up to make a difference in children’s lives.

The concert will be presented on April 6 at the NG Kerk Miederpark with various Potchefstroom primary school choirs who will perform with Amira in a series of music from The Sound of Music and Mary Poppins.

Amira says the concert is to give children the opportunity to perform and also to raise money for Gelukskinders, which sets up playgrounds for children in townships.

The choir consists of children between the ages of 12-18 from different schools in the area.

Dancers from the Ikalafeng School in Ikageng will also perform. Performing music from The Sound of Music, the Von Trapp family has been chosen from local talent with Amira playing the lead role of Maria. She will also play Mary Poppins and her father, Gerrit, will accompany her on the church organ.

The show will start at 18:00.

Tickets for the show are already on sale at https://www.quicket.co.za/ events/299108-music-go-round/#/
