Klerksdorp Marathon Club had 27 athletes who took part in the Two Oceans Ultra Marathon in Cape Town. The first athlete from Klerksdorp to cross the finish line was Johannes Diketso Radebe in a time of 3 hours 50 minutes. The first lady from Klerksdorp was Venessa Lottering in 5 hours 5 minutes. Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - Although Gerda Steyn didn’t break her race record, she made it six in a row at the Two Oceans ultra-marathon in Cape Town over the weekend.
Steyn, from Bothaville, who has the ability to pace herself like a metronome, went out harder than usual and charged through the halfway mark on target to shatter her Two Oceans record of 3:26:54 on Saturday April 5.

Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - It was fireworks and scintillating performances all round during the 13th Matlosana Cup tournament hosted by Team Tom, Shinkyokushinkai on April 5-6 at the Banquet Hall. The hall was packed to the rafters and spectators witnessed tough competition. On Saturday April 5, the Matlosana team managed to collect 26 trophies in the junior division and the next day they were blessed with four of the best, bringing the total to 30 for the entire team. Over the weekend 189 juniors participated and 107 seniors exchanged heavy blows in a competition.

Klerksdorp Midweek, Klerksdorp - The Klerksdorp Wrestling Club demonstrated their skill at the Northwest Open Championship held in Pretoria, a prestigious event that attracted 352 entries from top wrestlers across the country. Gauteng hosted the tournament where wrestlers from Klerksdorp showcased their talent and determination.
The Klerksdorp wrestlers brought home four medals. Tanki Tau earned a gold medal, while Connor de Lange and Bendre Pretorius secured silver.
