Klerksdorp Midweek, Hartbeesfontein - The IWISA No1 Fills Good campaign at Overland Cash & Carry in Klerksdorp has seen the local community raise a remarkable R25 000 for the SAVF Evanna Home for the Elderly. The purpose-driven campaign which ran from May 2024 to March 2025, channelled a portion of every IWISA No1 product purchased at Overland directly into a fund set aside for SAVF Evanna. The funds raised will now be used to upgrade bathroom facilities at the home to better serve frail and mobility-impaired residents.
“We want to share our gratitude and celebrate with the entire community,” says Sibongile Mooko, Premier Marketing Executive. “The R25 000 raised is testament to what’s possible when purpose, partnership and people come together. We are deeply grateful to every single person who chose IWISA No 1 at Overland. You didn’t just fill your tummies and trolleys: you have helped create a safer, more dignified living environment for the elderly at SAVF Evanna.”
Founded in 1969, SAVF Evanna provides a vital lifeline for over 80 elderly residents - many of them SASSA dependents without family support. The Home’s holistic, family-friendly approach ensures residents receive not only physical care but also the emotional warmth and dignity every person deserves.
“The bathroom upgrades funded through this campaign are a basic yet essential improvement,” explains Theresa Cronje, Manager of SAVF Evanna Home. “Many of our residents rely heavily on these facilities being safe and accessible. This donation will help us continue offering care in a way that respects their dignity.”
“Our heartfelt thanks go to the Overland Cash & Carry team and the Klerksdorp community for embracing this campaign,” says Mooko. “Every pack purchased was an act of generosity - a reminder that when we come together around a common purpose, even the smallest choices can make a meaningful difference.”
She adds that the IWISA No 1 Fills Good campaign was created to turn everyday shopping into something more meaningful. “Together with our strategic customers, we’re empowering shoppers to make a difference through simple, everyday choices. When you choose IWISA No.1, you’re choosing to fill your family’s tummies and nourish them, while purchasing with purpose.
“You’re doing something you can be proud of: something that ‘fills good’.”
“This campaign has shown the power of partnership between brands, businesses, and communities,” says Cronje.
SAVF Evanna is one of more than 160 facilities in the national SAVF network, offering services that span elderly care, childcare and broader social services. Community involvement and donations remain crucial to their critical work.
With announcements about the next campaign to be made in the near future, IWISA No 1 remains committed to investing in and empowering this community. “As a brand, we’re here to build a better tomorrow,” says Mooko. “We know that change doesn’t always come in big gestures. Sometimes, it’s in the small, everyday choices we make - like the product we put in our trolley.
“We are so proud of what we’ve achieved together. This is the kind of difference that truly fills good,” she concludes.
