Klerksdorp Midweek, Potchefstroom - Renowned Dutch concert organist Minne Veldman returns to South Africa for his seventh tour, performing in Pretoria (twice), Stellenbosch, Cape Town, Robertson and at the NWU. He will showcase his artistry as part of the NWU School of Music Concert Series 2025 at the NG Kerk Vyfhoek, Baillie Park on Wednesday February 19.
His captivating program features some works by Telemann, Nystrom, and German (in collaboration with trumpeter Peet du Toit), Bach’s first Trio Sonata, Handel’s famous The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba, Mendelssohn’s sixth Sonata (with the Variations on Vater Unser), Boëllmann’s spectacular Suite Gothique, and his composition on Praise, My Soul, the King of Heaven.
Although concerts in the week are usually scheduled in the evening, please note that this concert begins at 15:00.
Children under the age of 12 may attend free of charge but are encouraged to donate a non-perishable food item to contribute to the NWU School of Music food bank.
