Klerksdorp Rekord, Klerksdorp - Anton Vogt van Klerksdorp was deel van die Duitse span wat aan die Black Bass Wêreldbyeenkoms in Portugal deelgeneem het.
Hy en sy spanmaat, Lukas Riplinger, het uitstekend gevaar. Vogt is die eienaar van Bassworld SA.
Die span was eerste op die eerste dag en het op die tweede dag die tweede plek ingeneem saam met die VSA. Duitsland eindig in die tweede plek en die span van SA in die vierde plek. Die VSA het gewen.

Fortress Running Series to hit Klerksdorp
Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Lace up your takkies and get ready to participate in the Fortress Running Series race taking place for the first time ever at Flamwood Walk on November 19.
This is the first race being held at the Flamwood Walk shopping centre and is the last of the four races in the 2023 Fortress Running Series. Comrades legends Tete Dijana and Edward Mothibi will be participating in the race - join them by entering today.
Entry fees start at R60 for the 5km, R100 for the 10km and R150 for the 21.1km races. Children under 12 can participate in the 5km race for free. All finishers will receive medals and the total prize pool up for grabs for the 21.1km and 10km races is over R20 000.
Drummies shine at World Championships
Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - Kitso Moaludi and Jazmijn Schepers, both learners of Klerksdorp Hoërskool who were included in the South African Majorettes Team, recently returned to home soil as two-time world champions from the MWF World Championships held in Croatia during September.
These two drummies were the only two from North West selected to represent South Africa in five categories. The team won gold in their small drill and mace group displays and achieved a fourth place in their duo mace display.
After three days of tough international competition, the senior Protea team’s results were as follows: Small Drill: World champions, Mace Group: World champions, Mace Duo: 4th, Classic Baton Defile: 8th and Group Pom Pon: 9th.
The next World Championships will be held in Cape Town in September 2024.

Klerksdorp reigns supreme in veteran bowling
Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The winners of the North West Veteran Mixed Pairs competition were decided in Parys on October 10 with Klerksdorp Bowling Club managing to win the gold and silver medals.
In the quarter-finals, Cathy and Willie Venter beat Potchefstroom’s Christo Stoltz and Elien Theunissen 21 shots vs 19 shots on an extra end to proceed to the semi-final. In the other quarter-final, Dalene Peens and Piet Croucamp beat Magdel O`Donoghue and Frans van Niekerk 19 shots vs 14 shots to end up in the other semi-final.
