Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The Matlosana Municipality currently has no service provider to carry out refuse removal and is back to doing it themselves.
“Back in the day, the Matlosana Municipality had a fleet of 32 refuse removal trucks. Now only about six or seven are in use, and while they are certainly capable of providing the service, one can only think of the reasons why they always want to appoint a service provider from outside,’’ said Cllr Johannes le Grange, DA Caucus Leader.

Lentswe, Orkney - In another shooting in town, a man was gunned down while walking on a sidewalk near a popular fast food restaurant and the busy taxi terminus. The shooting was reported just after 19:00 on Saturday March 23. A woman who stays in Charlotte Maxeke Street near where the murder happened told Lentswe it sounded like fireworks exploding on New Year’s Day when she heard the gunshots. Brig Sabatha Mokgwabone, police spokesperson, said the victim was approached by four unknown men, all armed with handguns.
