Lentswe, Jouberton - An employee of the municipality who was allegedly beaten up by the police when he went to the local police station to enquire about the well-being of his teenage son and who was arrested, is still suing the police.
Daniel Mmane (52) and his son both appeared in the magistrate’s court in Klerksdorp on October 19. The incident happened when Daniel went to station, after his son, Keorapetse (19), was arrested for carrying a dangerous weapon.

Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Stock theft is a growing problem in the province with three separate incidents last week, resulting in nine arrests. In the first incident, on November 15, 160 sheep were stolen from a farm in Hartbeesfontein. Four suspects were arrested, including a previous employee. It was a joint effort by Hartbeesfontein police and the local Safety Watch and all the sheep were recovered.

Lentswe, Orkney - The Provincial Organised Crime in cooperation with Klerksdorp Tactical Response Team (TRT) pounced on three unsuspecting robbery suspects in Kanana last week.
This operation on November 12 came after extensive police investigations and identification of suspects, who were allegedly involved in a robbery in Kanana during October.

Lentswe, Klerksdorp - A 47 year-old woman appeared in the Klerksdorp Magistrates’ Court this week on a charge of murder after a local businessman was stabbed and found dead in his Land Cruiser last week.
“Mathabeng Mmusi appeared in court on Monday November 13. She is linked to the murder of Motseothata Phillimon Dikgwatlhe (56) whose body was found on Thursday evening November 9, in Hartbeesfontein along the R503 road. The body was found with a stab wound on the upper body in his vehicle next to the road with lights on. He was certified dead by emergency medical services personnel,” said Capt Afjee Botma, police spokesperson.
