Lentswe, Lebaleng - It was very dusty at Lebaleng Stadium on Saturday October 14 when Future Stars FC hos-ted a festive season preparation tournament. The following women’s teams participated, Future Stars FC, Lebaleng Barcelona and Tswelelang De Scorpions. The men’s teams were Future Stars, Hungry Lion, Lesedi, Dynamos, Tswelelang De Scorpion, Power Stars. Shooting Stars and Skhukhuni FC. Tswelelang De Scorpion won the women’s final 3-2 against Future Stars. In the men’s final it was Lesedi against Shooting Stars with Lesedi winning 2-1 taking home the trophy and winning prize of R4000.

Lentswe, Potchefstroom - There were few to no eyebrows raised on Wednesday evening 4 October when Vernon Paulo, the NWU’s point machine, was named the NWU Rugby Institute’s Player of the Year. Paulo was rewarded with the Johan Claassen trophy for his performance in the Varsity Cup and was exceptional throughout. Not only did he score the most tries in the competition - truly a rarity  for a solid forward - but his work ethic and leadership were also some of the most important qualities throughout the competition. Tino Swanepoel was named the Varsity Cup Player of the Year and supporters will long remember this versatile player’s magnificent tries during the competition. 

Lentswe, Jouberton - A schools football tournament took place on Saturday September 30 by 360°Diski Klinix, an NPO, to develop young talent through sports and education from the surroundings of Jouberton.
Are-fadimeheng, Tsamma and Matlosana took part.  Mofatlhosi did not show up and they ended up playing point system to see as how the champ will be crowned in absence of the fourth team.
