Dintwe Kagisho from Tshedimosetso Secondary School’s gold and silver medalist placed first in 1 500m and second in 5 000m girls u/19 at the District championships that was held at Puk McArthur Stadium at Potchefstroom.

Ogone Mosala and Alberto Mogoje of Excelsior Primary School excelled at the district primary school meeting. Mosala won the 100m and Mogoje ended second in the 1 200m.

Lentswe, Klerksdorp - As part of women football development, the women’s teams and clubs in the region are called to a meeting at Klerksdorp Civic Centre.
The meeting will be at 10:00 on February 24. The purpose is to plan for the season ahead and look into the progress made in 2023 season.
Issues related to prizes and referees payments will form part of the agenda.
Affiliation, registration and 2024 season league format will be at the top of the discussions.

Mosehla Paseka from iKhayalehtu Athletics Club won The Aurum Institute Klerksdorp Marathon at Hoërskool Wesvalia on Sunday February 11. This 42.2km race was his first competition, and he aced it, in perfect running weather. He finished in 02:30:33. He is with Tanya Nielson, representative of Aurum.

Lentswe, Klerksdorp - Matlosana’s Executive Mayor, Cllr James Tsolela, congratulated 19-year-old Kgotatso Sibi from Jouberton who was invited by the Bloemfontein Rugby Academy to take part in their program in order to nurture his rugby skills and talent. Sibi left for Bloemfontein on January 30. The young sportsman comes from a small family of six. 
He discovered his interest in rugby while attending Keurhof in 2016. His older brother took him to a rugby match, and the team decided to use him, which sparked his love for the sport. He also played for school teams like THS, Wesvalia and Schoonspruit. Mayor Tsolela gave Sibi a fitting send-off last week encouraging him to become the next Siya Kolisi.
