STELLALANDER-VRYBURG: As the Holiday Season phase of Operation Shanela II begins, North West police are calling on residents to remain alert and exercise caution at home, in shopping centres, at tourist destinations, and while travelling on major freeways, provincial routes and tourist corridors.
The festive period is traditionally associated with increased crime and alcohol-related incidents. Police are therefore urging the public to act responsibly and to remain aware of their surroundings.
