Klerksdorp Record, Stilfontein - The illicit mining task team continue to pounce on criminals.
Last week the team followed up on information and ultimately caught six men red-handed stealing diesel at a dwelling near Stilfontein on Thursday morning June 27. They were arrested and charged with theft.
Col Adéle Myburgh, police spokesperson, the accused were allegedly caught stealing diesel from two construction vehicles as well as a light delivery vehicle on the premises. During the arrest, the police seized 20 drums, containing a total of 500 litres of diesel.
Lindelwa Nkwanyane (31), Simiso Ngcomphalala (29), John Rasereka (64), Amos Novela (57), Piet Leeu (34) and Olebogeng Sejako (41) appeared in the Stilfontein Magistrates’ Court on Friday June 28, on a charge of theft. They were remanded in custody until their second court appearance on Friday July 5.
The Police Provincial Commissioner, Lt-Genl Sello Kwena, lauded the team for their tireless efforts in the fight against illicit economic activities.

Susan de Jongh, eienaar van een van die winkels, het haar na sosiale media gewend om die ontbloter op te spoor. Hy het onder meer teen die onderneming se deur en vensters geskryf. Daar is foto’s van hom waar hy soentjies blaas en kaal rond dans. Van die boodskappe is seksueel van aard en dreigend. Daar is ook video’s waar hy homself bevredig.

Ferdi Mollentze van Doringkruin is so ‘n diereliefhebber. Lady, sy ses maande ou worshond, het verlede Saterdagoggend 29 Junie uit sy erf gekom. Hy het die hond se verdwyning eers die middag agtergekom toe hy weer by die huis terug is.
Helping hand towards furry friends
Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - The Masonic Lodge Klerksdorp is full of praise for the hard work done at Orkney and Klerksdorp animal shelters in aid of animal welfare.
They donated dog and cat food to the shelter and urge more businesses and organisations to join their lead and donate to animal shelters in the area.
Matlosana mayor resigns
Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp – Executive Mayor Cllr James Tsolela has resigned.
The Matlosana Council accepted his resignation on Tuesday June 25 during a special council meeting to adopt the budget. The Acting Municipal Manager, Baganne Choche, has been mandated to declare the vacancy of the Executive Mayor in Council in terms of the Electoral Regulations and the Municipal Structures Act, 117 of 1998 and inform the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) in writing.
